For a long time, only climate protection was high on the corporate agenda. At least rhetorically. However, climate protection and the protection of biodiversity and nature go hand in hand. Biodiversity in Good Company has therefore set up a network and created further training programs to put biodiversity on the corporate agenda. We had to take a look.
Biodiversity was a rising start with the advent of the newly drafted European Sustainability Reporting Standard ESRS E4 Biodiversity & Ecosystems. Biodiversity was suddenly discussed on par with the need to mitigate climate change. The Kumning Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework had propelled also the discussion and legislation in Europe forward. But that was in 2022 and 2023. It went downhill ever since. Biodiversity is getting marginalized again.
It is therefore great to see that an initiative like Biodiversity in Good Company exists to this day and manages to draw larger corporate audience to discuss the relevancy of biodiversity to their business models and how t support the protection and restoration.
