Hello! We are the Bürokratiemonster

EnvironmentRule of lawHuman rights

Great you are here. Wondered who we are? Well...

We are scared. Life has taken an ugly turn lately. We don’t even feel like going out for groceries anymore. People just stare at us. And then we hear all those screams like "Aaaaaaargh", "Aaaaaaah" and "Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck". Why? We are not so sure. But it seems people are angry with us. It seems they want to kick us out. Send us back home. We don’t know where to, though. We grew up here. We will like Miss Understood.

So, we decided to go out and try to explain who we are and what we do. Maybe that helps. A little bit.

Nature is close to my heart

Worms, birds and monkeys is what I live for. The way we harm nature, both intentionally and unintentionally, makes my heart bleed. I so wish we would just protect all those living beings wanting to coexist with us. They have feelings to. Just like us. We are not apart from nature. We are part of it.

Reminding us of the rule of law

What is justice based on? I think a set of rules that apply to everyone. Yes, everyone irrespective of colour, religion and so on. We are seeing a decay in the rule of law these days. Rules are under attack, whether to prevent corruption, environmental destruction or human rights abuses. They are despised as complicated and bureacratic. Yet, at times they are, but ripping it all apart will just give the those with more power yet more power and destroy the very fabric of society.

Fighting for human rights

Human trafficking, slave and child labour as well as other forms of coercion are all too common nowadays. It is worsening again. Back to the dark ages? We need to keep systems fair for all. Universal Declaration of Human Rights was a milestone for humanity. Much followed to protect those lying on the floor and pick them up. Let’s not go back trampling on them.

Our Projects

And a little bit of context

We know we are not very well liked. Actually loathed and hated by many. We can show you so many letters we receive, where people express their disgust at us. Yet they don’t seem to realise that it is us that helps society as a whole function. Imagine anyone could drive a car without a license. Anyone could build a house wherever they wanted. Anyone could dump rubbish wherever they felt like it. No, not good. We need some rules and regulation that come with bureaucracy to organise ourselves as society. Otherwise, there’s chaos.

But we agree, not all bureaucracy is great. Some totally non-sensical. We have a racist brother, who get's a lot of traction lately to make life for refugees as terribly as possible.

It is ok to look solution to make our life simpler. Less paperwork, less bureaucracy. But let's have a sensible discussion and not jump straight for deregulation. We understand that bureaucracy is annoying, but some of it serves an important purpose. We are ready to talk to you.

If we are gone, you will be gone soon after us...
